Training programs related to control and monitoring of food safety for inspectors, and other key stakeholders in the Veterinary Sector and other appropriate government departments. Public education and awareness rising for food safety focusing on key stakeholders in food and feed supply chains and in the case of animal welfare on all keepers and transporters of animals.

Activity 1.4.1. Food safety: Following training needs assessment and development of training programme, undertake training programs for inspectors, food and feed establishment managers, and other key stakeholders using experts from appropriate institutions in selected EU Member State(s).

Method:

Assessment and discussion of training needs for food and feed sector inspectors, food and feed establishment managers, and other key stakeholders with BC leading staff

The activity will include assessment of training needs and development of training programmes and carrying out training programmes for food and feed sector inspectors, food and feed establishment managers, and other key stakeholders. The documentation and the training materials will be prepared for the participants. A final training assessment will be done. Each participant will be given an attendance certificate. MAFWM will be trained in strategic planning of food and feed safety activities.

Activity 1.4.2. Food safety crisis management plan – Deliver training to identified staff and other relevant stakeholders in crisis management; assignment of responsibilities and certification of relevant staff.

The activity will include training of identified staff and other relevant stakeholders in crisis management. The documentation and the training materials will be prepared for the participants. A final training assessment will be done. Each participant will be given an attendance certificate. MAFWM will be trained in implementation of RASFF system.

Activity 1.4.3. Food safety inspection teams: Deliver training to team members and other stakeholders as required.

Method:

Organization and management of training of food safety inspection teams’ members and other stakeholders as required by BC

The activity will include training of food safety inspection teams’ members. The documentation and the training materials will be prepared for the participants. A final training assessment will be done. Each participant will be given an attendance certificate.

Activity 1.4.4. Identify forms of delivery best suited to different sectors / actors, which may include workshops, individualized training programmes, short courses, training manuals, and study tours.

Workshop on food and feed safety issues for MAFWM staff and stakeholders will be organized.

Activity 1.4.5. Food safety awareness raising program for all stakeholders.

Method:

The activity will include meetings with the BC leading staff of the project and staff dealing with public relations. MS experts will share experience in preparation of strategic approach and guidelines for public awareness on food safety.

This will lead to a detailed analysis of:

- National legislation on public awareness in case of crisis situations;

- Organizational chart of public awareness.

Food safety awareness raising program and standard operational procedures on food safety awareness will be developed Workshop on food and feed safety awareness for MAFWM staff and stakeholders will be organized.
